The imaging capabilities of Vivo’s new flagship models S19 and S19 Pro have been confirmed by Jia Jingdong, Vice President of Vivo Brand, via his official Weibo account. The specifications and leaked design details of the new series, which were previously revealed on Geekbench, have now been supported by official information.
vivo S19 and S19 Pro specifications:
Superior processor and battery specs
One of the striking features of the Vivo S19 series is its powerful processor options. While the Vivo S19 model is equipped with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, the S19 Pro model will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ processor.
The S19, which is also ambitious in terms of battery capacity, offers a long usage time with its 6,000 mAh battery, while the S19 Pro’s battery will have a capacity of 5,500 mAh. Both models will offer 80W fast charging support, providing a quick solution to users’ needs.
Eye-catching screen and large storage space
The Vivo S19 Pro will come with an OLED display measuring 6.78 inches and with a resolution of 2800 x 1260 pixels. This will offer users more vivid and clearer images. With 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage, the S19 Pro aims to offer a high-end experience in terms of both performance and storage.
Innovative camera technology
The Vivo S19 Pro will feature the industry’s first 50-megapixel Sony IMX921 sensor. In addition, it will also feature a telephoto sensor with a resolution of 50 megapixels and support for 50x digital zoom. Both models are equipped with a 50MP front camera and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera. There’s also a wide-angle dual soft-light selfie camera with anti-distortion, allowing users to take the best selfies.
Image processing and soft light ring
The Vivo S19 series offers major innovations, especially in image processing. The “soft light ring” added to the camera module aims to reduce excessive shadow contrast by spreading light evenly over the subject.
While this technology illuminates large areas with the main camera, it can be adjusted to cover distant objects by focusing light into a narrow beam on the telephoto camera. This ensures optimal light distribution and light color temperature in different scenes.
Advanced portrait algorithms and autofocus
Another highlight of the Vivo S19 series is the advanced portrait algorithms. Jia Jingdong says that portraits are designed to not only separate the subject and background with lines, but also to add depth and contrast to subjects using shadows. Autofocus has also been made more reliable with a “synchronized focus change” feature.
AI-powered imaging
With the S19 series, Vivo also introduced its ever-evolving and self-learning portrait algorithms. By encoding the concept of beauty into imaging AI, it is aimed to achieve more impressive and aesthetic portraits.
